Such a treat to be back in this lovely cottage – first time since its renovation! We love the improvements, social spaces and the ever classy interior. have been here with just our first daughter, then had more children and brought the in-laws along too! It’s been a peaceful, much needed, break. Ian and carol are great hosts and thank you so much for the extra bed and chair to squeeze in our youngest!

The peace and tranquillity of the area is bliss! We’ve been very comfortable in the cottage and found it easy to explore this beautiful area thanks to top tips from Ian and Carol and the amazing map room. We’ve loved Newport and Fishguard – coastal walks, Cardigan – the Teifi Marches Nature Reserve, St Davids -incredible cathedral – and home via Porthgain with dinner at the Sloop Inn. Thank you for all you’ve done to make this a memorable holiday.

After a delayed start because of Storm Amy, we arrived to a very warm welcome from Ian and Carol. A very comfortable, warm  cottage and very well equipped, including the facilities within the Boot Room, maps etc. Wonderful coastline walking especially Dinas Island, along the cliff top route. The coastal path through Lower Town, Fishguard is worth a visit … Also a walk from the cottage into the Gwaun valley is worthwhile for an afternoon. Although short we have had a lovely holiday and will definitely return.

Foxglove cottage is deep in the heart of the lovely Pembrokeshire countryside but within easy reach of some good size towns with good shopping facilities.

The cottage is very cosy, well provisioned and with a large private garden. It is really peaceful with just the sound of cows in the fields and passing tractors. A great place to relax and unwind.

The owners, Ian and Carol, were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We would strongly recommend this property to anyone who loves the countryside and who wants to explore the many pretty and interesting places Pembrokeshire and further afield have to offer.

Ian and Carol, gave us a very warm welcome on our arrival and during our stay. We found their advice and ideas on where to visit and places to go was invaluable. As strangers to Pembrokeshire, we really can’t thank them enough for their help and suggestions in making our holiday so enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this property to other holidaymakers.

What an incredibly beautiful house! We didn’t miss anything here!! Particularly noteworthy are the large kitchen, the absolutely comfortable beds and the quiet garden. And of course the cleanliness of the entire house. And the sooo friendly hosts. We are happy to recommend the house without reservation and will definitely come back.

A very warm welcome on arrival and we were so reassured by the owners emails prior to our arrival and the adaptions they made to meet our needs. The cottage was lovely and had everything and more than we needed. The enclosed garden was brilliant for our young boys. The location was beautiful and a great base to explore lots of different areas.

Excellent cottage very good value. Welcoming owners who made it clear from first meeting that they were always there to help. Always a wave if they saw you any time. Would recommend.

What a fabulous cottage, it was a beautiful part of the country but within a few miles you were in the main towns of Newport beach, Old Fishguard & St. David’s market town & Cathedral. If your into walking across then this is the place for you with the help of the owners Ian & Carol who will give you guided tours of the area. May I also say how nice and friendly they were and nothing was too much trouble if needed. Hopefully we’ll be back very soon so many thanks for the great holiday we had in your first class cottage.

Foxglove is a lovely comfortable cottage with everything we needed for our week there. Ian and Carol were friendly and helpful, and their personal touches in the cottage with favourite places on the wall, suggestions for places to visit and their guest book really showed they think about what guests might like or need. Definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed.

Foxglove Cottage is extremely comfortable with high standard quality fittings. It was spotlessly clean and very peaceful and quiet. Ian and Carol were lovely welcoming hosts, very knowledgeable and helpful about the area and obviously passionate about their business without out being intrusive. We are definitely returning next year.

This is a very comfortable cottage in a quiet location. The cottages have been recently renovated with care and attention to detail and have been designed to maximise privacy. The abundant heating and hot water is supported by excellent insulation and creates a cosy atmosphere. Coupled with this benefit, the bedroom and living room are spacious making it easy to relax when indoors. The fixtures and fittings were practical and of good quality, selected to cater to every need – with touches of elegance in the bed linens and curtains.

We were surprised to find a direct route to Newport on the coast and our walking holiday became primarily focused on the coastal paths. The Preseli Hills are also on the doorstep.

Ian and Carol were very friendly and helpful hosts offering lots of information about the local places of interest and the history of the area. They were readily available yet totally respected our privacy. For us, this was probably the best holiday rental out of many over a good number of years.

Foxglove Cottage proved to be a great base for exploring this part of Pembrokeshire. Ian & Carol made us feel especially welcome and provided us with excellent information on local walks and other attractions in the area. The map room and drying facilities on site are an added bonus for keen walkers. We were lucky with fabulous weather for our trip but still feel there is more to explore in the area and will definitely return.

The owners Ian and Carol were very welcoming and helpful. Cottage is equipped with every thing you could possible want during your stay. Plenty of places to see and things to do in the surrounding area. Have recommended cottage to some friends already. Would happily go back as 1 week not long enough to explore area.

What a beautiful place to visit! The cottages are beautiful! Everything you need, nothing that you don’t. The beds were by far the best beds I have ever slept in other than my own. And the feeling was mutual amongst all friends we stayed with! The owners are such friendly people and are more than happy to give you good advice of where to visit and directions!

We highly recommend Ian Pattinson to guide your day in the Preseli Hills.  He embraces the challenge of explaining the complex geology of the area and its long history from the Neolithic Age to modern day by weaving a captivating narrative from scholarly research and ancient legends.  His tour was a perfect mix of education, entertainment, and exercise.

Thanks to Ian and Discover Walking Pembrokeshire for a fascinating tour of North Pembrokeshire as part of a Visit Pembrokeshire project promoting the county as an accessible place for visitors with disabilities. Ian was enthusiastic, organised and flexible, from initial contact through to hosting the day. We enjoyed visiting gems of the Preselis, Nevern, Newport and Fishguard alongside intriguing stories and facts to bring each to life. Being chauffeured to each sight was also a plus. Thanks for your friendly approach and willingness to adjust to our pace – you have certainly opened our eyes to the delights North Pembrokeshire.

Hello Ian and Carol, …. just to say I loved the tours – for someone who finds maps reading and instructions a nightmare, you brought the area to life for me in away I couldn’t have done in a million years.

Now back at work, I feel like I had such a rich experience of discovering Pembrokeshire, I am still a bit giddy from having such a nice time!

I hadn’t visited the Preseli Hills before and thought it a good idea to book a part drive, part walking tour to help orientate us in the area. What a sensible decision that was! Ian’s knowledge of geology, archaeology and local history brought alive the landscape, opening our eyes to not just what was there now, but through the centuries and the millennia. We learnt of local bluestones, links to Stonehenge, Iron Age forts, Pilgrim paths and so much more.  Absolutely fascinating and total value for money.  We left the tour with plenty of ideas of places to visit during our week’s stay and enjoyed it so much we booked a second tour to find out more! Can’t recommend enough.

EXCELLENT! I couldn’t recommend Ian’s personalised tours highly enough. Ian is clearly passionate about the region & it’s history, and it shows in his nonstop fount of knowledge & fascinating stories. If you find yourself in Wales, definitely give him a call.

Ian was a really good walking guide – very knowledgeable about local history, geology and culture – as well as filling in with lots of folklore and local tales – on giants, King Arthur, and Stonehenge! He took us to places inland that we wouldn’t have known to visit ourselves, and paced and pitched all of this to our needs and interests. We would definitely recommend this to others as a great way of discovering more about this lovely part of South Wales!

Just a quick email to thank you again for the wonderful day we spent with you around Milton Haven!  You had put together a great itinerary for us and we loved the mix of history, scenery and a relaxed well paced tour around the area.  The walk around St Anne’s head was particularly memorable and we appreciated that you had organised such a warm, sunny day for it.  We also really appreciated the fact that you were able to put together such a varied and interesting itinerary in an area that is not in your usual location.”.

With regard to feedback, we thought the day trip and walks were both excellent value, and much enjoyed the immense amount of information you were able to give us. Perhaps an odd highlight for us on the day out was the hidden quarry pool at Rosebush and we also particularly liked out-of-the -way Nevern.

We very much enjoyed our stay with you and the cottage in Spring was wonderful. We hope to come again about the same time next year, but we will have to wait until later in the year to fix dates.

We booked a walking day with Ian and it was brilliant, he really engaged the whole family and was a very interesting day out. I really recommend you do this – the price is very reasonable for what you get,
We had a couple of problems with our car but Ian and Carol bent over backwards to help and went above and beyond.
