Overview
Are you looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet, where you can relax and enjoy a well-deserved break? Our warm and cosy Foxglove Cottage is set in the foothills of the ancient and mystical Preseli’s can offer you exactly that.
This single-storey cottage sits in the middle of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park, high above the Gwaun Valley is surrounded by lush, rolling countryside and farmland and enjoy wonderful open views.
Originally a farm outbuildings and dating back for centuries, its 2 feet thick-walls are made from local stone, and while we have internally modernised it, we have worked hard to ensure it has kept its original character. And it has been furnished to the standard you would want and expect given its 4 Star accreditation by Visit Wales.
The cottage shares approximately one acre of land with a separate two storey cottage (Dan Y Mynydd – which translates as ‘under the mountain’) – where we live. Together the cottages are know as Tregynon Cottages. They enjoy private off-road parking and sit within lawned grounds.

Foxglove Cottage is perfect for up to four people, has two separate bedrooms both with separate ensuite, is equipped to full residential standard and is served by a green energy biomass central heating system which provides constant heating and plentiful hot water.
All rooms have double glazing and exposed and painted A-frame beams, joists and purlins.

Rooms
Foxglove was extensively refurbished and extended in January 2025 and now comprises the following rooms. The layout is shown on the scaled plan below:
The lounge – The lounge measures 4m x 3.6m and comprises three seater and two seater settees, a SMART TV/digital radio and unlimited superfast Wi-Fi. It was newly carpeted and painted during the refurbishment.
The kitchen and dining room – The kitchen and dining room is 5.1m x 5.9m (max) and was completely redesigned and refurbished in Jan 25. The kitchen boasts an electric oven and gas hob, a fridge and an additional freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and plentiful cupboard space. It is fully stocked with a range of utensils, cutlery and crockery. The extensive beech wood surfaces in the kitchen perfectly complement to country cottage theme.
The dining area is equally spacious and has it has its own SMART TV/digital radio and unlimited superfast Wi-Fi.
Double bedroom – this duel aspect room comprises a double bed with bedside tables and is carpeted throughout. The built-in double cupboard provides generous wardrobe and hanging space. The double bedroom measures 4m x 3.6m and so there is plenty of room to move comfortably around the bed. It has its own private en-suite, shower room with a very generous 1.7m long, walk-in shower, with two grab-rails, a WC and wash basin. The en-suite is 3.4m x 1.4m.
The twin bedroom – The twin bedroom consists of two good-sized single beds and bedside tables and measures 3.5m x 3.3m and it also has its own private en-suite, consisting of a bath with shower over and a grab-rail, a WC and wash basin. It measures 2.7m x 1.4m.
The Boot Room – Next to front door this room provides the ideal area to drop your boots and wet clothes after a full day on the go and it is stacked with all the information you might need to help you plan adventures for the next day.

Extra Bits and Pieces
Bed linen and towels – These are provided free of charge and the beds will be made ready prior to your arrival.
Hair dryer – These are provided in each bedroom.
A High Chair and Cot – These can be made available upon request, if you are holidaying with infants.
Recycling – Pembrokeshire boasts the highest recycling percentages in Wales. There are several outside bins all suitable marked up for recycling, non-recycling, glass and food.
Car Parking There is plentiful off road parking with Foxglove enjoying its own dedicated parking space, only 15m from the front door to the cottage.
Outdoor Facilities
Gardens – Guests have access to their own private garden area. Enjoy the sunset at the end of your day from your own back door! Perfect. There is a plentiful variety of garden furniture for you to enjoy.
There is also your own outdoor rotary clothes line !
BBQ and Picnic Area – There is plenty of space for you enjoy a disposable BBQ and a picnic table and benches are there for your exclusive use.
Walker and Cycle Friendly
Drying Room – Should you need more drying space for your walking gear, than that provided in the boot room, there is a drying room available. Just ask.
Bike Store – For those who bring their own bikes, there is storage space available in the garage. Again. just ask.
Given the facilities we offer and the information we have available we were awarded Walker and Bike Friendly accreditation by Visit Wales.
Tariff
Prices vary according to the time of year and will be provided on request or at the time of making your booking. Typically, low season prices can start from around £250 for the week and increase to a little over £800 at the peak of high season.
Compared to many other cottages, we are confident that our prices are very competitive.
Length of Stay and Availability
One- and two-week holidays are available in Foxglove. ‘Mini breaks’ out of season (excluding Christmas, New Year, Easter and the main summer period) are also available. Availability is shown in the calendar.
What to Expect on Booking and Arrival
- On booking we will send you a Welcome Letter, which is packed full of interesting and useful information about the area, directions to get here and tips about shops on-route.
- On arrival we will be here to greet you, with a warm welcome and then we will give you detailed tour of your cottage with explanation about how everything works. No key boxes and empty cottages!
- Help to move your bags the short distance from your car to the cottage if you would like.
